you require the immediate response of police, fire and/or an ambulance

you have a life threatening situation

you need to report a fire or other dangerous situation

a crime is in progress
If you know someone who does not speak English, tell them they can still call 9-1-1. Multi-language translation services are available when needed.
Do not call 9-1-1 for non-emergencies, these calls are a serious issue because they delay 9-1-1 communicators from dealing with emergency calls. Do not call call 9-1-1 to find non-emergency numbers for fire, police, or ambulance.
