Website Accessibility
We are continually incorporating into our Web site the Universal Accessibility concept - serve our large audience by following guidelines set out by the ODA - Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Government of Canada and the World Wide Web Consortium.
Presently, the information provided through www.burlington.ca, is in two possible versions: Hypertext Mark-up Language (HTML) or Portable Document File (PDF). Currently, HTML is accessible via screen readers while PDF documents are not. Adobe Corp., creators of the reader for PDF files is creating a version of Acrobat that will provide access.
The City of Burlington Web site audience includes those users with disabilities. If you have a suggestion on ways to improve the accessibility of the City's Web site, please email the Web Editor.
This accessibility statement is limited to the Web site of the City. The City assumes no responsibility for Web sites that are linked to, hosted by or otherwise electronically connected to the City's Web site or Web servers.
