Safety Zones
On February 14, 2000 four Council approved Community Safety Zones became operational:
- MAPLE AVENUE from Hammond Street to Lakeshore Road
- NEW STREET from Wedgewood Drive to Rossmore Boulevard
- PLAINS ROAD from Joan Drive to Waterdown Road
- WALKERS LINE from New Street to Fairview Street
and from Ketelby Court to Dundas Street
Provincial Legislation provides for increased fines for Highway Traffic Act Offenses committed within the above Community Safety Zones.
This initiative is a result of a partnership between the City of Burlington, the Halton Regional Police Force, Burlington Road Safety Committee, Seniors Advisory Committee and the Physically Challenged Committee.
