Exemption to "3-Hour Parking Limit"

Unless signed otherwise, vehicles parked on a street for more than 3-hours are subjected to a parking ticket unless permission has been granted prior to the ticket being issued.

Residents that do not have enough off-street parking available to meet their needs are not exempt from this Parking Limit By-Law.

Gaining Permission to Park                                                       in the "3-hour Parking Limit" Areas

The city expects from time-to-time , that residents may have short-term parking needs that can not be fulfilled on their driveways.

In order to accommodate these situations, the city has approved the following policy:

  • Permission may be granted for a vehicle to park in the "3-hour limit" area for a longer period of time, for a maximum of 15 days per vehicle plate per year for the following reasons:
    • Driveway sealing/repairs
    • Home repairs
    • Guests
  • To obtain permission, residents must call the city at:
    • (905) 335-7816 during business hours
    • (905) 335-7844 after hours
  • The vehicle(s) licence plate is required and recorded in connection with this parking permission.
  • Permission WILL NOT be granted during the winter months, on the days when snow clearing activities are underway (generally for 24 hours following a snow strom).
