WIFI Trial

Starting August 1, the City of Burlington will be launching a four-month wireless Internet service at Tansley Woods Community Centre and 414 Locust Street.  Wireless Internet service, also referred to as WiFi and hotspots, allows users with wireless enabled laptops and devices to access the Internet.

Parents will be able to surf the Internet or catch up on e-mail while their children participate in swimming lessons or any of the other great youth programs at Tansley Woods. Visitors to 414 Locust will be able to do the same whether they’re sipping a coffee, enjoying lunch or checking out some of the information on the local sites available at Tourism Burlington.

Recognizing that wireless Internet is becoming increasingly available in public areas (indoor and outdoor) and WiFi capability is becoming standard on all types of mobile devices, the City of Burlington is pleased to provide wireless Internet as an additional service in these facilities so that time spent may be more enjoyable or productive.

The intent of the WiFi pilot project is to determine public interest and acceptance in such a service at city facilities. During the trial, participants will be asked to provide feedback on the service and will be able to fill out printed a survey or complete one below.  At the conclusion of the pilot project, city staff will review the feedback and decide on future options for this service at other city facilities.

The WiFi trial has been completed and the surveys have been taken down.
