The Burlington Waterfront Committee is a volunteer committee of citizens from across the City with a goal of increasing public access and protection of our lake shore and bay shore.

Beachway Park is a Halton Regional Park located along the western shore of Lake Ontario in Burlington. There is an existing Beachway residential community of 30 private homes on both sides of Lakeshore Road between the Skyway wastewater treatment plant and the canal.

None of the homes interfere with access by the public to the lakeshore from the public path. The homes are split between the East and West side of Lakeshore.

All the homes have city water access, garbage collection and pay City and Regional property taxes. They do not have Regional waste water services; they have private sewage systems.

All of the homes lie in a designated flood hazard zone as do the public institutions in the area.

The current Halton Region master plan is for the Region to purchase the homes to create more parkland. The residents own their own property and many would like to stay.
