LandFit - Class Descriptions

Cardio Sculpt

ncludes a warm up followed by cardiovascular training using a variety of aerobic movements and patterns. Next the class incorporates hand weights for fabulous toning and sculpting. Finish off with tension reducing stretches and relaxation.

Muscle Conditioning

Muscle toning, strengthening and stretching will help you sculpt and tone your entire body while gaining flexibility. A must try class for all.

Walk/Tone/Stretch

 A 25 minute aerobic walk around the gym using various arm movements followed by toning, relaxation, breathing and stretching exercises.

Aquafit - Class Descriptions

Shallow Aquafit

 Designed for both swimmers and non-swimmers. This is an excellent workout for aerobic and muscular fitness without the risk that accompanies high impact exercise. Participants will work at their own pace. Safe and effective exercise routines are presented in an easy to follow format with upbeat music.

Deep Aquafit

 Safe and effective exercise routines are presented in an easy to follow format with upbeat music. Participants are suspended in deep water. Aqua float belts are supplied.

Aqua Arthritis

 Work your body in a comfortable, joint-friendly way! Our trained instructors will lead you through exercises to increase circulation, decrease muscle tension and spasm, nourishing your joints and aiding to prolong their ability to function normally.

Gentle Aquafit

Simple moves, great music and gentle exercises. This class will focus on FUN-ctional fitness in a quiet setting where you can meet new friends while working your heart and muscles. This class is also great for newcomers wanting a beginner class.

Diaper Fit

A great opportunity for you and your baby to enjoy fitness and meet new friends. Babies must be between 4 and 24 months and be able to sit up on their own in a provided floatation seat. Instructors will lead you and your baby through exercise routines to upbeat music.

Aqua Boot Camp

Interval cardio based workout with varying intensity and equipment to increase strength and aerobic endurance in the shallow and deep end.

The City of Burlington is seeking Groupfit instructors who are motivators and passionate about health and wellness.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Certified as a water or land aerobic Groupfitness instructor by any of the following
  2. Organizations: CALA • CanFit Pro • Water Art • YMCA • or equivalent
  3. One year employment commitment, (needs not be exclusive).
