City Initiatives
Implementing energy conservation measures and investing in sources of renewable energy are rewarding on many fronts including: (i) ongoing operational savings (i.e. using less energy means paying less to your utility); (ii) reduced greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change; and (iii) fewer air emissions that contribute to smog (linked to illnesses and premature deaths).
City staff continue to investigate ways to decrease energy consumption while maintaining services. Below is a list of some of the initiatives.
