A Summer Get-Away Close to Home

The Beachway Park Pavilion and multi-use trails provide a 2 km. route from Spencer Smith Park to the canal. The pavilion provides change rooms, outdoor showers, seasonal concession facilities featuring the Snack Shack and year round washrooms. Amenities at the beach include the pavilion, parking, a pay phone, a playground, and lots of sun, sand and water.

Come down to the beach, dip your toes into the lake, build a sandcastle, play frisbee and enjoy a bit of paradise, right here in Burlington!

Enjoy the water

  • Check the water qualitywith a call to (905) 825-6000 (ask for the Beach Hotline)
  • No lifeguards are on duty, so please enjoy the water safely while ensuring children are supervised carefully. Swimmers are advised to swim at their own risk
  • Jet Ski launch and activity is removed from the main swimming and Pavilion area and is located adjacent to the playground. Follow the signs.

Enjoy the Waterfront Trail

  • Walk, jog, skate and bike the Waterfront Trail
  • Parking is available at several locations along the beach, but consider leaving your car at home and using public transit
  • The Waterfront Trail is connected to bikeway system

Enjoy the Special Events

  • Several Special Events are planned - make them part of your summer or come down to watch (please note that trail access and parking may be limited during some events)

Dogs & The Waterfront at Downtown Burlington

Please remember:

  • Burlington by-law states that  dogs and other animals are not permitted in the water or on the beach at any point.  This law is for safety reasons to maintain a clean and healthy environment for all users.
  • Waterfront Ambassador staff will be speaking to dogs owners on the beach regarding the by-law, and Animal Control officers will be enforcing the by-law if needed.
  • When walking dogs please stay on waterfront trail area as dogs are not permitted on the beach or in the water.
  • Remember the leash, and to stoop and scoop!

Please familiarize yourself  with these other important by-laws in place for pet owners.
