Street Parking and Snow Clearing

Please remember to park vehicles in your driveway or designated parking spaces during or after a snowfall or other winter weather. This allows the city to clear snow or salt and sand roads. It also means:

  • Road lanes can be clear and safe for travel
  • Garbage and recycling pickup can take place
  • Other vehicles can drive safely with enough room on the roads during and after snow or other winter weather

When possible, use public transit such as Burlington Transit.

In November 2007, City Council approved a bylaw that can result in a fine to owners who interfere with snow removal by leaving their vehicles on city streets during or after a snowfall or other winter weather.

The city’s parking services team wants to work with residents to ensure the city snowplows, sanders and salters can get to your streets and keep them safe and clear for winter travel.
