Handi-Van News and Client Updates


CASH Fare Increase Effective April 1, 2010

Burlington Handi-Van passengers who pay cash upon boarding should expect to pay more beginning April 1, 2010. The cost will increase to $3.00/trip however strips of 10 tickets will remain at $27.50. These tickets can be purchased at the Downtown Transit Terminal ( 430 John St.), from a Handi-Van driver or via mail order by sending a cheque addressed to Handi-Van Dispatch at 3332 Harvester Rd. Burlington, Ontario L7N 3M8.


Burlington Transit Temporary Office Location

During construction to the Burlington Transit administration building at 3332 Harvester Road, staff (which includes Handi-Van Dispatch,) will be temporarily re-located to 3245 Harvester Road, Unit 11.

Specialized Service Review

Burlington Transit is undertaking a review of Handi-Van services with the assistance of IBI Consulting. The attached document outlines the project scope. Part of the public feedback process included three (3) public meetings and focus group sessions held in June, September and again in October 2009. The final report is scheduled to go to Corporate & Community Services Committee on March 3, 2010.
