Kerns Road Environmental Assessment Study

The City of Burlington is carrying out a Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Study to review Kerns Road between Dundas Street and Bonfield Court. The project is following the approved planning process for “Schedule B” projects under the Municipal Engineers Association Municipal Class Environmental Assessment. The overall goal is to review this section of Kerns Road to determine what options and alternatives are appropriate to address issues related to cut-through traffic, vehicle speeds and road safety. The study is assessing the feasibility of alternative solutions including “Do-Nothing”, partial or full closure of the roadway.Kerns Road Layout Map

Public consultation is an important part of the study. The third Public Information Centre (PIC) for this study was held on Nov. 18, 2008. The purpose of the third PIC was to present the study recommendations for public comment.
