Burlington Central Library kicks off Heritage Week with day-long event

BURLINGTON, ON – The City of Burlington and its community partners will celebrate Heritage Week 2009 on Saturday, Feb. 14, with a free event at the Burlington Central Library, 2331 New St., from 9:30 a.m. to
3:30 p.m.

Come experience a schedule of programs that includes presentations, exhibitors, displays, entertainment, contests with prizes and more. Some of the day’s activities are:

  • Burlington Radio Control ModelersBurlington Radio Control Modeler members will answer questions and discuss the art and origin of aircraft modeling.
  • First Annual Heritage Photo Contest – Winners of the first annual Heritage Photo contest will be announced following the Heritage Week kick-off ceremony at 10 a.m.
  • Special Guest Speakers – Join former Mayor of Burlington Walter Mulkewich as well as Elizabeth Crouch, Don Crossley, Paul Stone and Ken Cruikshank to learn about some well-kept, interesting and sometimes surprising facts about Burlington events, places, inventions and more.
