Questions & Answers
How can I gain access to my property through one of the multi-use path corridors? To gain access to your property through a multi-use path corridor an Access Permit is required and can be obtained from the City. Please call 905-335-7738 for more information.
I am curious about the look of the new pedestrian bridges. How are they constructed? The new pedestrian bridges are constructed of self weathering steel that has a high copper content. Over time the copper rises to the surface forming a protective layer against corrosion. This process creates a weather resistant and maintenance free bridge. As the bridge ages its colour will darken and it will blend nicely with the natural environment.
Are motorized vehicles permitted on the multi-use paths? Motorized vehicles are not permitted on the multi-use paths. However, personal mobility devices required by people with disabilities, including motorized wheelchairs and medical scooters, are permitted on the multi-use paths (Traffic By-law 86-2007).
Where can I find information about the public art benches that have been installed in the multi-use paths? Information about the public art benches is available on the Burlington Public Art website.
