Request for Expression of Interest (REI): Leasing Options for Tyandaga Municipal Golf Course:

As part of the business model review underway for the golf course, Council directed staff in the fall, 2009 to issue a REI for leasing options for Tyandaga to see what the level of interest was in the market place. In December, staff reported to Council on the results of this process (see PR 63-09 below) and given the submissions, Council authorized staff to proceed to the next stage, the issuance of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for leasing the entire operation.

Request for Proposals (RFP): Leasing the Entire Tyandaga Operation:

On February 8, 2010 a staff report and draft RFP will be considered by the Community Services Committee (see PR 8/10 below and Appendices). Subject to Committee’s approval, the RFP will be issued and will close in April. The results of this stage in the process is expected to be reported back to Committee in July, 2010, At this time a Council decision is anticipated regarding the future operating model for the golf course for 2011 and beyond. No decisions have been made at this time. The golf course will continue to operate in 2010 under the City’s management.

Proposed Practice Facility/Learning Academy:

In December, 2009, Council deferred consideration of constructing a Practice Facility/Learning Academy at Tyandaga in 2010, pending the outcome of the RFP outlined above. The affordable and successful Junior and learn-to-golf program is expected to continue to grow this season at Tyandaga.
