Nelson Aggregate Co. Burlington Quarry Application
|
Nelson Aggregate Co. is proposing a new 82.3 hectare quarry immediately south of its existing quarry on No. 2 Side Road, west of the settlement of Mount Nemo. The proposed quarry is located on part of lots 17 and 18, Concession 2, City of Burlington. The application is for unlimited yearly tonnage and would use the existing crushing, storage, asphalt recycling and office facilities of the existing quarry to the north. The new quarry requires a Niagara Escarpment Plan Amendment, Halton Region Official Plan Amendment, City of Burlington Official Plan Amendment, and a Ministry of Natural Resources Aggregate License. For aggregate applications in the Region of Halton, a Joint Agency Review Team (JART) is set up to review, analyze and comment on the completeness of technical submissions. This JART includes the Niagara Escarpment Commission, Region of Halton, City of Burlington, Conservation Halton and the Ministry of Natural Resources. The JART report informs the public about JART’s findings. The report also details the process undertaken and advises of any outstanding issues related to the completeness of the technical submissions as well as stating which issues have been dealt with satisfactorily. |
