Obtaining a Purchasing Bid Package

Address and Identification of Submission
Bid submissions should be delivered in a sealed package, clearly marked as to contents including Bid number, title, and closing date for submission.
It is the sole responsibility of each Bidder to ensure that its Bid is delivered to the correct address no later than the closing date and time.

Role of Purchasing Services

The role of the Purchasing Services Division of the Finance Department is to provide a centralized, corporate wide, strategic purchasing perspective.  This will encompass making best value decisions and minimizing risk related to the purchases of goods and services, the sale of revenue generating rights, and the formation and management of contracts between the City and its commercial partners.  Purchasing Services staff are responsible for co-ordinating the acquisition of goods and services with a value of $20,000.00 or more for City Departments.

Procurement By-Law

By-law 69-2005, with amendment By-law 58-2009, has been established as the City of Burlington's corporate reference for business practices related to procurement and other commercial activities by the City.
