BURLINGTON, ON – The City of Burlington has announced that Cathy Robertson, most recently director of
engineering with the City of Cambridge, will be Burlington’s new director of Roads and Parks Maintenance effective Nov. 9, 2009.
An engineer and municipal operations specialist with experience in capital planning, Robertson previously held supervisory and management positions with the Towns of Milton and Oakville.
“I am extremely impressed with Cathy’s knowledge, skill and ability,” said City Manager Roman Martiuk. “She will be a great addition to the team here at the City of Burlington.”
Robertson is a graduate of Queen’s University, where she received both a Bachelors and a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering. She is licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario and a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer.
Roads and Parks Maintenance has 130 full-time employees and is responsible for a variety of activities in the parks and on and around road. The department also oversees the storm drainage system and all City-owned trees. The position of director was most recently held by Allan Magi, the city’s Executive Director of Corporate Strategic Initiatives.
