Community Surveys
What are they?
This is a random survey of Burlington residents to provide information on the importance of services provided to residents and the level of satisfaction with those services. The survey can help set budget priorities for the upcoming years and tells the city:
- the extent to which residents are using existing services
- the importance residents place of a variety of services
- an assessment of satisfaction with existing services and understanding what improvements are desired
- how results have changed from past surveys and benchmarks for future surveys.
Why a telephone survey?
Telephone surveys allow for greater control over the selection of respondents, which provides a more reliable and accurate representation of residents. Another benefit is that the response rate is typically much higher than a mail survey. During a telephone survey, respondents can ask questions and interviewers can probe responses, with gives more depth and breadth.
