Holiday hours are in effect for City of Burlington programs and services between Christmas Day and New Year's Day this holiday season. City Hall will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009 and will reopen on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010. During this time, a number of city administrative services will not be available.
Burlington Transit and HandiVan service will operate under a holiday service schedule from Dec. 24 to Jan. 1 inclusive. For details, please call the automated 24-Hour BusLINE at 905-639-0550 or visit the city’s website at cms.burlington.ca/page146.aspx.
Parks and Recreation is offering many opportunities for the whole family over the holiday season at city pools, arenas and community centres. Hours of operation and services available vary over the holiday season. Call your local pool/arena for specific swim/skate times and check the Tim Hortons Free Holiday Skate Schedule for skate times.
Roads and Parks Maintenance will provide regular service over the holiday season. The office will be closed Dec. 24, 25, 28 and Jan. 1. For questions about snow clearing or roads and parks maintenance during hours of operation on Dec. 29, 30 and 31 from 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., please call 905-333-6166.
The Provincial Offences Court offices in Burlington and Milton (Halton Court Services) will be closed on Dec. 24, 25, 28, 31 and Jan. 1. The Court offices will be open on Dec. 29 and 30. The Provincial Offences Court office in Oakville (Halton Court Services) will be closed from noon on Dec. 24 to Jan. 3 inclusive. Please note that there will be no court hearings scheduled between Dec. 24 to Jan. 3. Justices of the Peace will also not be available.
Parking services - Free parking is available in the downtown core on the following days at all meters, municipal parking lots and the Waterfront parking garage: Dec. 25, 26 and Jan. 1. NOTE: The Waterfront parking lots (east and west) do not provide free parking on statutory holidays.
