official website providing municipal election information for Burlington's eligible voters and

On December 3, 2009 the Ontario Legislature passed a bill that made changes to the Municipal Elections Act. Elections will now be held on the fourth Monday of October making the next municipal election October 25, 2010.
Other changes in the bill included:- Promoting greater accessibility to the election process for voters and candidates with disabilities
Accessible All Candidates Meetings - Bringing greater transparency to the voting process by requiring voter identification.
- Creating a new contribution limit per contributor.
Term of Office for elected representatives
- December 1, 2010 to November 30, 2014 (four year term)
