In this election, 35,035 of the city's 100,338 eligible voters cast a ballot at one of 54 polls throughout the city's 6 wards.  A voter turnout of 34.92%.

It was a close race between the two candidates for Ward 4 City and Regional Councillor.  With only 19 votes separating the two candidates a recount was conducted. The margin of victory remained the same at 19 votes.

On the question "Are you in favour of the operation casinos/mini-casino or charity gaming clubs within the Burlington municipal boundaries?"  26,965 voters said "no" and 7,422 voters said "yes".

On the question "Are you in favour of the placement of video lottery terminals (VLTs) for gambling purposes in premises licensed under the LLBO within the Burlington municipal boundaries?"  28,141 voters said "no" and 6,244 voters said "yes".

On the question "Recognizing that it is a Provincial Government decision over which the City of Burlington has no control, the costs of welfare, social services and social housing should be funded by? (choose one)"  29,224 voters selected Provincial Income Tax and 4,583 voters selected Municipal Property Tax

On the question "Recognizing that it is a Provincial Government decision over which the City of Burlington has no control, do you agree with the polling of municipal property taxes within the Greater Toronto Area to support municipal services?"  30,970 voters said "no" and 3,080 voters said "yes".
