In this election, 34,129 of the city’s 96,700 eligible voters cast a ballot in one of 316 polls throughout the city's 8 wards. A voter turnout of 35.3%.

On the following question "Are you in favour of the City of Burlington negotiating with the Region of Halton and other Halton municipalities and the Province of Ontario, to restructure municipal services in Burlington, to ensure that services are delivered at the most appropriate level?  25,992 voters said "yes" and 3,530 voters said "no".
