In this election, 25,203 of the city’s 89,623 eligible voters cast a ballot in one of 306 polls throughout the city's 8 wards. A voter turnout of 28.10%. 

On the following question "Are you in favour of having the Chairman of the Regional Municipality of Halton elected at large?"  16,950 voters said "yes" and 4,153 voters said "no".
