Internet Voting approved as an option for electors voting in advance of Burlington’s 2010 municipal election day
On April 12, City Council approved the use of internet voting for voters who would like to vote in advance of October 25, 2010. Internet voting means that voters can complete an online voter registration process and then vote from the comfort of their home, office, or other internet location. Accessibility features of internet voting make this a convenient alternative to casting your ballot at a polling location in person. Details about how to register for online voting will be available in August.
Voting Dates, Times, and Locations
On April 12, City Council approved advance voting dates and times, as well as all advance, regular and special voting locations. Mark these dates on your calendar now so that you can cast your ballot at the time most convenient for you.
Advance Voting will be held on Tuesday, October 5 and Wednesday, October 13 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Each location is city wide, which means that eligible voters can vote at any of the locations. No need to go to a specific voting location based on where you live during the advance polls!

- Burlington Seniors’ Centre, 2285 New Street
- Mapleview Shopping Centre, 900 Maple Avenue
- Tansley Woods, 1996 Itabashi Way
Election Day October 25 Voting
On election day, all regular voting locations will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Each location is specific to your ward and your address. Later this year, you’ll receive a Voter Information Notice (VIN) to tell you which location and poll you can vote at. This is the poll that you must cast your ballot on if you choose to vote on election day.
Special Voting Locations
On election day, special voting locations operate with reduced opening hours so that residents of the specific retirement home, nursing home, institution or rest home can cast their ballots. These locations cannot be used by other voters.
