The City of Burlington is committed to open, fair and transparent procurement practices to obtain the best value for money for the City’s tax payers.
The role of Procurement Services is to provide a centralized, corporate wide, strategic procurement perspective. This encompasses making best value decisions and minimizing risk related to the purchase of goods and / or services, the sale of revenue generating rights, and the formation and management of contracts between the City and its commercial partners. Procurement Services staff is responsible to administer the Procurement By-law, set procurement policies, guidelines, procurement procedures and to administer all RFP’s and non-construction quotes & tenders over $25,000 for all City Departments.
The Engineering Department has delegated authority to administer quotes & tenders for construction projects over $25,000.
All City Departments have delegated authority to administer their own procurement of goods and services under $25,000.
By-law 19-2014, has been established as the City of Burlington's corporate reference for business practices related to procurement and other commercial activities by the City.
