Filing an Appeal
Provincial Offences Act appeals originating at Halton Court Services must be filed with the Ontario Court of Justice at: 2nd Floor, 491 Steeles Avenue East, Milton, ON.
Prior to filing an appeal:| 1. | Pay the fine in full at any Provincial Offences Court location in Ontario.* A refund will be issued if the appeal is successful. |
| 2. | Place an order for three copies of a transcript of the court proceedings at the court location where the hearing took place. A $50.00 deposit is required with balance due on completion of the transcript. |
| 3. | Appeal packages including the instructions and required forms are available for pick-up at the court location where the hearing took place. |
| 4. | The Notice of Appeal form (included in appeal package) must be filed within 30 days from the date of conviction.* |
| 5. | With the exception of the above steps, any questions regarding the appeal process and/or forms should be directed to the Appeal Court, Ontario Court of Justice at: 2nd Floor, 491 Steeles Avenue East Milton, ON, L9T 1Y7 905-878-4165, #2 |
*Refer to the appeal packages for further instructions and forms if unable to pay the fine in full or if more than 30 days has passed since conviction.
