Burlington Performing Arts Centre names new manager of marketing and development


BURLINGTON, ON – Burlington Performing Arts Centre is pleased to announce that Hilary Sadler has recently been named as its manager of marketing and development.
Sadler has played similar high-profile roles with both the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts, and the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga where she was director of marketing for four years.

“We are very excited to have Hilary on the team,” said BPAC executive director Brenda Heatherington.  “She is a strong manager and mentor and has an impressive track record in corporate communications and integrated marketing/communications for both the profit and not for profit sectors.”

Background
Hilary Sadler graduated from Fashion Technique and Design at Sheridan College in Oakville and then applied her skills in the fashion industry in Toronto. After several years, her career shifted from fashion to theatre while retaining a focus on marketing and public relations. Hilary’s was  marketing director for the Living Arts Centre where she was responsible for developing strategic marketing and public relations plans, all front-of-house responsibilities including box office and volunteers, as well as promoting the visual arts calendar of activities.

Hilary has a passion for teaching and thoroughly enjoys the challenge of sharing her knowledge and expertise with students in the Corporate Communications Program at Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning and with students in the Marketing Program at McMaster University, Centre for Continuing Education.

The Burlington Performing Arts Centre, on track (and on budget) to open in the fall of 2011, will be an excellent venue for theatre productions, community and group presentations, civic events, receptions and exhibitions. A LEED-certified building (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), it is destined to be Ontario’s first stand-alone green performing arts centre.
