Dial-A-Ride

What is Dial-a-Ride?

Dial-a-Ride (DAR) replaces regular bus service with taxicabs on Routes 7, 8A, 9, 11, 15, 15A during hours when ridership is low.

DAR service allows passengers to have a taxi pick them up at regular bus stop locations. The taxi takes passengers to the nearest bus stop transfer point.

Leaving Home: Simply call DAR dispatch at 905-333-1113 about 30 minutes before you need the pick-up OR you can make arrangements to have a regularly scheduled pick-up at the same time and location (call DAR dispatch for details.) Pay the taxi driver either the regular cash fare, a BT paper ticket or show your BT monthly pass - then ask the driver for a special DAR transfer if you're transferring onto a BT bus.

Getting Home: To transfer from a regular bus to DAR taxi, tell your bus driver when you board the bus. The driver will book a taxi, give you a transfer and take you to the appropriate transfer point. The taxi will then take you to the nearest stop location closest to the nearest fixed route service point. Alternativley, you can call DAR dispatch before boarding the bus OR make arrangements to have a regularly scheduled pick-up at the same time and location.

If you require further information or have any questions, please call our 24-automated BusLINE at 905-639-0550 for information or speak to a customer service representative during Transit Terminal operating hours.

Thank you for choosing Burlington Transit.
