Waterdown Road and Highway 403 Interchange
Notice of Study Completion
The City of Burlington has carried out a Class Environmental Assessment (EA) study for improvements to the Waterdown Road/Highway 403 interchange in the City of Burlington, Regional Municipality of Halton. The study included a review of opportunities to improve the existing interchange, including the addition of an eastbound on-ramp (for eastbound traffic to enter Highway 403) and a westbound off-ramp (for westbound traffic to exit Highway 403). Stantec Consulting Ltd. carried out the study.
Process
The study has been carried out in accordance with the Municipal Class EA (June 2000) and also fulfilled the requirements of the Class EA for Provincial Transportation Facilities (July 2000).
Filing of Environmental Study Report
An Environmental Study Report (ESR) has been prepared to fulfill the documentation requirements of the Class EA process. The report describes the project, input received from the public and external ministries, agencies and municipalities and the alternatives considered. The report also provides a description of the recommended plan, associated environmental impacts and proposed mitigation.
Public Review Period
The ESR is available for a public review period of 30 calendar days from February 7 to March 8, 2005. The document is available for review at the following locations:

If you have concerns with this project that cannot be resolved with the City of Burlington, you may request the Minister of Environment to require the City of Burlington, to comply with Part II of the Environmental Assessment Act, which addresses individual EAs. Requests must be received by the Minister at the address below, by March 8, 2005. A copy of the request must also be forwarded to the City of Burlington at the above address. The decision rests with the Minister of Environment.
