City launches public survey for traffic calming policy review

Burlington, Ont., July 24, 2012 – The City of Burlington is inviting the public to provide input into the city’s traffic calming policy by completing an online survey. City Council directed city staff to review the city’s traffic calming policy, which was adopted by council in 2006.

The traffic calming survey will help city staff gather important information as they move forward with the policy review. Traffic Calming is the combination of mainly physical measures (speed humps, road narrowing) that reduce the negative effects of motor vehicle use, alter driver behavior and improve conditions for non-motorized street users.

For more information, please contact Brent Jefferson, traffic technologist at 905-335-7671, ext. 7760 or by email at jeffersonb@burlington.ca.
To complete the survey visit: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/COB_TrafficCalming.

The survey closes on Aug. 6, 2012.
