RE: Electronic Tendering - UPDATE JUNE 2012
The Engineering Department is moving to electronic tendering. We are expanding our existing relationship with Biddingo from just posting tender advertisements to include all tender information (form of tender, drawings, soils information, etc.).
Effective March 1, 2012 all City of Burlington’s formal competitive tender opportunities will be posted on Biddingo’s website and will be organized by commodity.
KEY CHANGES TO THE PROCESS
ØContractor registration to bid on City of Burlington opportunities is mandatory.
ØRegistration is to be done by ALL CONTRACTORS online at www.biddingo.com/burlington
ØIt will be the contractors responsibility to obtain addendums once issued.
ØAll contract related documents will be made available online based on a ‘fee for service’.
ØContractors can receive e-mail alerts notifying of new bid opportunities and addendums.
SERVICE OPTIONS
ØRegistered contractors ($250/year) to Biddingo will have the ability to view all bids listed online and purchase specific bid documents and download them directly to their computer from any buying organization.
ØNon-registered contractors have the option to purchase and download individual bid documents from Biddingo for the set tender fee plus an additional 15% administration fee.
ØContractors may obtain a hardcopy of the documents for an additional $20 administration fee by visiting the Engineering Department, Level 2, City Hall, 426 Brant Street, Burlington. THIS SERVICE WILL NOT BE OFFERED AFTER OCTOBER 1, 2012.
